Share your mental health/stigma experience.

My mother is suffering from Dementia, and she is the violent type. I have to get use to her outbursts, some times even in the public. I have to employ domestic helper to look after her and she has drove 1 away. I have to kept pacifying the domestic helper to get her to stay longer with us. My mother is only 69, I have to keep telling myself that I can do it, to prepare myself with every new day with her. Pray for me.

How did you respond to this experience?

I tried to amuse my mother, entertain her as much as I can whenever I am at home, so that she would not vent her temper towards the domestic helper. I have support from a few close relatives and close friends. Without their encouragement, I will not be able to come this far. Most importantly, I have to keep telling myself, to be positive.

Every effort is worth it, if it's for a loved one. Just do it, nothing is impossible.
